Dominic would have had some good advice for her to help her with her 5th grade students!

08-11-2010 6:25 PM -- By: Lizzy, From: the caul-de-sac "And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years."
As depressing as the quote is, it does speak well to Dom's life. While his life was ended way too soon, he did live an awesome life with a loving family and good friends.
He inspired and brought happiness to many - which in my opinion - is truly living.
Happy Birthday Dom..

08-06-2010 7:48 PM -- By: Melanie, From: Anaheim We have this Halloween decoration that is a series of illuminated body parts that when placed properly on the lawn, it looks as though someone or something is climbing out of the ground. So glad that Dominic gets to enjoy the same chuckle with his new neighbor in the cemetery.

07-11-2010 9:35 PM -- By: Barbara Moyer, From: At Saturday's meet, there was a slight break in the rain. For a moment the sun came out and the people around me and myself started to sing "Here comes the sun..." I wish I could remember who actually said they were thinking of Dominic, but I think most of us who knew him were. Anyway, it was a sweet moment.
07-09-2010 9:09 PM -- By: Hoots boys, From: Florida Well, reading Amy's post from May, I got the pleasure of hearing one of Dom's jokes from Sam tonight as we were sitting out on the lanai. Once there were 3 men stranded on an island. They found a genie. One of them wished that he was super strong so he could swim across the water to land. The second one wished that he was super fast so he could run across the water to land. The third one wished that he was super smart so he could take the bridget to land.
Ha ha! So great to know such a great kid and a great family!
07-05-2010 3:29 PM -- By: Melanie, From: Anaheim Pam posted some pictures on Facebook a couple weeks ago from Carolyn & Patrick's wedding. The boys looked so cute holding Graham Cracker's hand, walking down the aisle. Dominic seemed so thrilled to have a big pinwheel, too. Glad there are so many pictures of happy days.
07-01-2010 1:59 AM -- By: Rosa Del Cid, From: Clovis, CA Chris, Andrea & family, I stumbled upon this site when I went the CHS85 site, and I cannot express to you how sad I became when I read about Dominic. He and my daughter had a lot in common--Battle of the Books, Harry Potter, swimming... While I cannot fathom the depth of your pain, please know you have my most sincere condolences, and I hope one day the anguish won't be so great. May God bless you all.
06-07-2010 1:08 AM -- By: Ali Wunsch , From: Columbia I don't think I have ever truly expressed to you all how much I think about your family on a regular basis. Being that I have moved away 2 years ago, I am not as in touch with our little world off of Deerfoot Way. But everytime I stop by to see my family, I feel for yours. I think about how much my sister viewed your house at a second home. I think about how the girls have grown into such beautiful woman (of course they would), and I think about how much your family must miss Dom everyday. Being that I was away for school, I never got to see Dom grown up. To me he will forever be the little guy that refused to get out of the bathtub, or the kid that would strike a deal with me and pretend to be asleep so that I would put his sisters to bed first so I could stay up together and read to him the longest. He was the little boy that taught me how to tell stories with stuffed animals, voices and all, and how important it was for each animal to have their own name. These skills have come quite handy teaching first grade! With all of the experience I have had over the years taking care of other people's wonderful children, through teaching, camp, nannying... Dominic will always hold a very special place in my heart, just as your girls do. He was the first child I ever rocked to sleep (I was just a child myself!), and probably about the one one that did not complain about my voice as I attempted lullabies. So I apologize that I have not expressed this to you before now, but after seeing pictures of the girls and the Zahlis Zoo, I figured now is better than never. You all have a beautiful family, and I know that I am blessed to have had Dominic in my life.
