Joel "GiGi" Taylor Lanoux

Joel “GiGi” Taylor Lanoux, 78, is now at peace and has gone home to be with her Lord on August 1, 2008.  She was born in New Orleans, LA on January 21, 1930 and moved to Texas in the early 1950’s and became a lifelong resident, which she referred to Houston as being “My Home.”  She was a long time member of St Cyril’s Catholic Church on Westheimer and was a member and officer for the New Comers of Greater Houston.  She worked as a beautician at Clarewood House for 21 yrs and JC Penney’s for 15 yrs from where she retired.  She loved to volunteer and her heart had a never ending place for family and friends, those less fortunate, stray animals, art, music, and the Catholic Church.

 

Survivors include: a sister, Audrey and husband Charlie Bares, Cypress; five children, Karen and husband Mike Hoffmann, Hutchinson, Ks, Tommy and wife Shannon Lanoux, Frisco, Tx, Sue Chokas, Austin, Tx, Patrice and husband Terry Mangum, Sacramento, Ca, and Lauree and husband George Pizzitola, Katy, Tx; 7 grandchildren, Michelle Pechacek, Jennifer Houng, Renee Dennis, Jill Brownlow, Mason Passmore, Chad Coppinger, Abby Coppinger and 16 great-grandchildren.

 

Services will be held at Schmitt Funeral Home, Katy, Texas at 10:00 am Saturday, August 9th and burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Katy. 

 

In lieu of flowers her family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Reno County, 1715 east 23rd, Drive, Hutchinson, Kansas 67502 in her name.
