Frank Kingsley Clark, Jr (88) passed away on Wednesday April 22nd in Watauga, TX near Ft Worth.
Oldest son of Eileen Plummer Clark and Frank Clark, Sr he was born February 20, 1927. Frank spent his youth in rural San Antonio and Austin, Texas. His father worked for the telephone company stringing the first telephone lines across Texas and neighboring states from the Depression onwards.
Frank was an accomplished musician, playing clarinet and saxophone. He led a dance band and was Student Director of the Longhorn Marching Band at the University of Texas.
Frank served in the US Navy as an Aviation Electronic Tech Mate 3rd Class at Ward Island near Corpus Christi from 1945-1946, taught radar to sailors and also played in the Navy band.
After his US Navy service, he graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering in 1950, after marrying his college sweetheart, Barbara Ash in 1948.
Frank’s electrical engineer career took him to many places around the world. Frank served his country working on various electronic intelligence projects. His employers included Bendix, LTV, Sanders Associates, General Dynamics, and Lockheed Martin.
His family lived in New York, Maryland, Connecticut, Dallas TX, Nashua NH, and lived in the North Richland Hills TX area for the past 33 years. He later became an expert witness and consultant to law firms in Texas.
One of his favorite places was Port Aransas, Texas where the family enjoyed many memorable vacations.
He is survived by wife Barbara, children Linda (John Woodward) of Cave Junction OR, David (Valerie) in Cedar Park TX, Gary (Cathy) of N Richland Hills TX, and Elizabeth of Boyd TX, grandchildren Steven (Allison) of Austin TX, Scott (Cassidy) of Grand Prairie TX, Jully Miller Ragnarsson (Joshua) and great-grandchildren Annabelle and Violet, brother Bobby (Terri) (Vancouver WA) and sister Mary Agnes (Gary White) (Oak Hills CA).
Frank was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Honey, and brother Glenn (Greta).
A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Keller
