Earl at Christmas 2005 with his Grandaughter Izabella
This online memorial was created in loving memory of Earl Lewis.
Please sign Earl's guest book and let us know you came to visit. We will remember Earl forever.
Earl was the best Father-in-law anyone could ever hope for. Kind, caring, respectful, and full of life. His family was of utmost importance at all times. As a family we took several family vacations together. I have never known a family to be so close and I thank god for it everyday.
Earl was a successful business man, opening his own business Lewis Custom Cabinets in Stockbridge Georgia.
Earl loved to ride his motorcycle, it was a Gold Wing. We took trips to Cherokee NC and Daytona Beach FL for bike week.
We found out on April 4, 2006 that Earl was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer. We all stayed positive destined to help him beat this.
Earl went through Chemo and Radiation and did pretty well. He had his days like most cancer patients do.
Earl had Surgery in the fall and he just never really recovered. He stayed cold, and couldn't move around to much. He fought everyday against this horrible disease. He told us he would fight until the end and he sure did.
We took one last family vacation over christmas to Pigeon Forge TN. We will hold that vacation deep in our hearts for the rest of lives. He was such a trooper hanging out in the cold with us at Dollywood that night of the parade.
At the last weekend in January we rushed him to Southern Regional Hospital in Riverdale GA. His feet had begun to swell and we were all very worried. Within in a matter of 2 days he went from 3 months to live to a week to live.
So we took Earl home where he wanted to be and we had hospice come out. With the entire family gathered around on that Thursday February 1st 2007 he said his mumbled his last words to his wife Glynda and held her tight and took his last breath.
We miss Earl so much, he was way to young to leave us and had so much ahead of him. We know that everyday he is watching down over all of us. Everything he ever did for his family and friends still shows through everyday.
