The Good Die Young

Telly Nathaniel Hopkins was born on March 19,1977 to Christine Dargan and John Hopkins. We met in 1991 and from that day on, I knew he would be the man that I married. Telly and I grew up in the same neighborhood and we went to the same middle school. We were both young when we had our first daughter NyJae, but Telly stepped up to the plate and took care of us both. Three years later we had our second daughter Telly. Telly loved all three of his girls LaShea, NyJae and Telly, but he and Telly shared a different kind of relationship. I guess it was because they have the same name or maybe because she was the only one of his kids that he got to witness the birth of. NyJae is a Mama's girl, Shea can pretty much hold her own, but Telly was a Daddy's girl. There was nothing we wouldn't do for those girls. I think Telly felt death coming and that's why he spent his last weekend alive with them. His favorite rapper was the late Tupac Shakur. He used to tell my children that he was their Uncle(lol). I guess now they're both smiling down on us. He will forever be missed and though we may never understand why, we will not question God's will. He leaves to mourn his wife Monique; children LaShea, NyJae, and Telly; Parents Christine Dargan and John Hopkins; Mother in law Yvette Forte, Father in law Robert Spriggs; Grandmother in law Agatha Lansey; Brothers Anthony, Mckenzie, Dewayne, and John Colby; Sisters Darlene, Maxine, Anginette, Brittany, and Alisha; Four sisters in law Nyiesha Hopkins, Tamika Smith, Legacy Hudson-Forte, and Salama Oliver; One brother in law Waymond Young Jr; Best friends Charles (Chuck) & Antoine and a host of other relatives and friends. Please sign Telly's guest book and let us know you came to visit. We will remember Telly fovever.

                                             WHEN I MUST LEAVE YOU

When I must leave you for a little while,

Do not grieve and shed wild tears;

Nor hug your sorrow through the years,

But start out bravely with a gallant smile

And for my sake and in my name,

Live on and do all things the same;

Feed not your loneliness on empty days,

But fill each hour in a useful way.

And never be afraid to die,

For I am waiting for you in the sky.

      Love Telly
